Hey movers, today went well. We had Roger Masaba (Sabo) leading us in a workshop today exploring the development of movement from the source. Samuel Lutaaya led the next session where he asked the participants

Tomorrow (Thursday), we shall have another class led by Faizal Mostrixx Ddamba and Judith Lubega. The description of the classes follows below:

Faizal Mostrixx Ddamba

HIP HOP by  Faizal Mostrixx Ddamba

Date: 21st August 2014

Time: 2-5 pm

Venue: Green Room, National Theatre

Class Description

This master class is designed to provide participants with an insight into hip hop with an aim of enabling participants understand various approaches to hip hop choreography and its constituent elements such as popping, locking, etc. Faizal will provide tools to participants for the manipulation of movement while increasing vocabulary and technique.

Judith Lubega

TRADITIONAL DANCE ESSENCE by Judith Lubega N. Tusiime

Date: 20th – 22nd August 2014

Time: 5-6 pm

Venue: Green Room, National Theatre

Objective

This master class is designed to provide participants with an insight into Selected Dances from Uganda with an aim to empower and enhance their skills identification, basic analysis and performance the basic movements of the dances.

Class Description

The participant shall be involved in the study and discussion of the Origin, Development, the Forms or Structure of the dances, the Costume and its relevance to the dances, Vocal and Instrumental Accompaniment, and the significance of the dances in the society from which they originate. The participant shall practically participate in learning the techniques involved in the dances as well as the movement vocabulary of the dance(s) selected.

At the end of the class, the participant shall be expected to artistically showcase their achievement basing on the knowledge attained from the class.
